Jim Fowler

It is with great sadness that I publish this post. Dr.J.A.Fowler died of a heart attack whilst canoeing last week on Coniston Water. I will publish a list of the birds seen  and some photographs of his recent trip to Australia in the next few days. The following link is a touching tribute to Jim . http://dailybitsnbobs.blogspot.com/

It has been a horribly sad weekend for all of us who knew and loved Jim. He lived life to the full right up until the end. People have been leaving messages on Facebook and on Jim's blog http://maalie1.blogspot.com/ for those would like to read and remember.

I will have that list for you asap mate. Its sitting on the dashboard of my car, where he left it. I have struggled to open the door and retreive it frankly. We are all so upset here....

I will probably find a bloody cherry ripe melted in the glovebox too!

Hi,

I have just emailed the BTO to request that my ringing refund for last year be donated to your ringing group, in memory of Jim Fowler. It’s to the value of £18.50, so will go most of the way to a string of A rings. Hopefully the BTO will just credit your group with the value (and I’ll destroy their cheque), and avoid any hassle, but it might be an idea to contact them yourself to let them know that you’re aware and perhaps arrange the credit for next time you buy rings.

Best wishes,

Richard Broughton
